So Flare-on done for the year and I didn’t do as well as I’d hope but it has inspired me to keep learning. In that I’ve decided to go back and shore up my foundational understanding of assembly and when looking at various courses I did a bit with the Security Tube stuff but its all in ATT format which fucks my brain up.
A friend who is working on some game hacking stuff found the Open Security Training website which has some phenomenal resources for ASM basics. The course by Xeno Kovah is great and the periodic Q&A with the class to refresh what we’ve learned was great for me to pause and write out what registers may be updated or things that happen as the CPU calls the specific instruction. superb seriously. I am ready to tackle his advanced course. WOOHOO!
